1 Project Background

At present, the production of China's spring industry is approaching saturation. According to expert statistics, the production of springs in China has reached 4 billion pieces, with a total of 21 major categories and more than 1600 varieties of spring products, mainly including valve springs, suspension springs, diaphragm springs, shock absorption springs, hydraulic springs, oil pump springs, butterfly springs, high-temperature springs, snap springs, tension springs, torsion springs, compression springs, vortex springs, and heterosexual springs. At present, most of China's spring products are general springs with low technological content, while high-tech products such as heterosexual parts and cross-sectional products can only be produced in a few large-scale ones.

In recent years, China's spring industry has achieved rapid development, with significant improvements in both technical and quality levels. As a universal component, spring functions cover many aspects such as shock absorption, energy storage, control, and tension maintenance. Its application fields involve various fields of the national economy, including aerospace, power and nuclear power equipment, high-speed railways, automobiles, medical equipment, daily hardware, toys, etc. In recent years, the rapid development of the national economy has driven the rapid growth of China's spring industry. The demand for upgrading mechanical equipment and improving the performance of supporting hosts have greatly promoted the improvement of the technical and quality level of the spring industry.

Our company's hot rolled cylindrical spiral compression springs are strictly produced in accordance with material inspection, cutting, end grinding, steel stamp identification, heating, spring rolling, quenching, tempering, shot peening, flaw detection, strong pressure, end face grinding, inspection, surface treatment, packaging and other processes.

In order to better guide production and ensure product quality. Our company's technical department has carefully prepared process documents, forming a relatively complete process document system. Strictly follow the requirements of the process documents during the manufacturing process of the spring, ensuring that the entire manufacturing process is in a controlled state. In addition, the technical department also organized process validation on the hot coil production line, including end heating, bar material heating, tip rolling machine, spring rolling machine, quenching groove, tempering furnace, flaw detection machine, shot peening machine, force measuring machine, fatigue testing machine, etc. The process validation results met the technical and production requirements. Using natural gas as energy source for rod heating is more energy-efficient and effective than traditional electric heating. And carry out capability certification for personnel, machines, materials, methods, and environments in key processes according to the program. Key spare parts and key processes must undergo self inspection, mutual inspection, and specialized inspection. Special processes shall be controlled according to the requirements of JC/CXW-23 Production Process Control Procedure. Special processes monitor the process, and necessary items are recorded in the process.                                                                      

The main quality characteristics of springs are reflected in accuracy, strength, durability, and safety. The hot rolled cylindrical spiral compression springs produced by our company meet the level 1 standard specified in the national standard in terms of accuracy indicators such as free height limit deviation, spring inner and outer diameter limit deviation, height limit deviation under specified load, and load limit deviation under specified height; After heat treatment, the hardness difference of the same batch is less than 3 HRC units, and the shot peening strength reaches the level of (0.35-0.55) A, with a shot peening coverage rate of ≥ 90%. The metallographic structure is tempered martensite, and the original austenite grain size grade is not less than 5. Therefore, it is necessary and urgent to establish industry benchmark standards and promote the healthy development of advantageous industries in Zhejiang Province by formulating the "Made in Zhejiang" standard for hot rolled cylindrical spiral compression springs.

Zhejiang Jinchang Spring Co., Ltd. submitted a project application to the Zhejiang Provincial Brand Construction Federation, which was approved by the Provincial Brand Construction Federation and issued the Zhejiang Pin Lian [2020] No. 22 Notice on Issuing the Third Batch of "Made in Zhejiang" Standard Development Plan for 2020. The project name is "Hot rolled cylindrical spiral compression springs". The plan is to be completed before December 31, 2020.

3.2 Main Work Process

3.2.2 Standard kickoff meeting (to be held)

In accordance with the requirements for the development of "Made in Zhejiang" standards, the leading unit, Zhejiang Standardization Research Institute, organized the Zhejiang Manufacturing Group Standard Launch Conference and Seminar on "Hot Rolled Cylindrical Spiral Compression Springs" at Zhejiang Jinchang Spring Co., Ltd. on September 4, 2020. Experts from Zhejiang (Yiwu) National Standard Technology Evaluation Center, China Machinery Productivity Promotion Center National Spring Standards Committee and other units were invited to discuss the draft standards for project application, and the meeting minutes were formed after the discussion.

The mechanical properties mainly involve parameters such as permanent deformation and fatigue life, which control the mechanical properties of the main raw materials and limit harmful substances.

5.2.3 Manufacturing process and equipment

Springs should undergo stress relief tempering and surface strengthening treatment, and the hardness of the heat treatment should be assessed.

Springs with compressive stress ≥ 0.45Rm should be subjected to room temperature/heating standing treatment or strong pressure treatment.

Spring reinforcement should be surface shot peened in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 31214.1 and JB/T 10802 after grinding the spring.

Finite element analysis, corresponding analytical equipment for spectral analyzers.

The hardness of the spring after heat treatment should be evaluated, and its hardness should meet the requirements of the drawing. At the same time, the hardness difference of the same batch should be less than 3 HRC units.

It should be tempered martensite (oil quenched and tempered material), with a small amount of sorbite allowed.

Decarbonization of harmful substances is not allowed on the surface of the spring.

The original austenite grain size grade of spring products is generally not less than 5.

Springs should undergo shot peening strengthening treatment, which should be carried out in accordance with GB/T 31214.1 and JB/T 10802-2007. The shot peening strength should be (0.35-0.55) A, and the shot peening coverage rate should be ≥ 90%.

 

5.2.4 Detection capability

It should have the ability to detect indicators such as verticality, pressing height, shot peening strength, shot peening coverage, hardness difference, permanent deformation, fatigue life, and harmful substance limitation.

Should have the ability to inspect the entire product of hot rolled cylindrical spiral compression springs.

It should be equipped with metallographic equipment, spectral analyzer, material tensile testing machine, six component force testing machine, transverse load testing machine, locomotive spring specific fatigue testing machine, French made suspension spring specific fatigue testing machine, domestic suspension spring fatigue testing machine, magnetic particle testing equipment and other testing instruments.

5.2.5 Quality Commitment:

The product should have traceability.

The product has a shelf life of 2 years under normal transportation and storage conditions.

All materials and energy can be reasonably and sustainably utilized in this continuous economic cycle to minimize the impact of economic activities on the natural environment. In the production process of gelatin hollow capsules, enterprises use circular economy methods to clean the discharged wastewater through the sewage treatment system, making it reach the level of clean water and achieving the recycling of water resources.

2. Our company adopts clean production to control the entire production process and product lifecycle. In the treatment of wastewater: a.
